Even though we cancelled our Virginia beach and Busch Garden vacation, we managed to squeeze some time to bring the kids somewhere so they could enjoy their summer break. We went on a road trip and visited Hershey Park for a couple of days. We also managed to visit one of the caverns in the nearby town called Indian Echo Caverns. The Cavern is located in Middletown Road, Hummeltown , PA.
I am glad that we saw one of the leaflet in the hotel we were staying at. Visiting the Indian Echo Cavern was a nice surprise for our trip since we did not plan on it. They are open daily including Sundays.
Pennsylvania is such a luscious state. There's farm everywhree even on busy cities, it's beautiful to drive around. The travel from our hotel to the cavern took ten minutes, it was only 4.5 miles from the place stayed at which was a bonus.
My daughter did not anticipate the cold temperature inside the cave so my son was very kind to lend her his sweater.
My kids love seeing the goat although they were not fond of their smell lol.
It's nice that they have a little play area and farm animal area because it gives kids something to do while waiting for the tour.
While kids are playing, adults can shop at their souvenir area/gift shop.
There were so many educational tours when we went there .
Aside from the playground and picnic areas, you can also do other things like panning for gemstones. We just busied ourselves taking pics. What is there to tell if there's no photo to back it up right? Lol. I will continue to post the rest when I find time so tune in. There are so many interesting formations of stalactite and stalagmite inside the cavern that I want you to see.

My kids would love it there. How fun to explore and learn a little bit about the Indian culture.
I would love to see those caverns! We really enjoy getting out on the road and exploring, so my family would have a blast at Indian Echo Caverns!
I have always wanted to pan for gems. I think there is a place near our house that does that, but I have never visited there. I would really like to visit this place in Pennsylvania too. It looks really fun.
I can't wait to see the inside of the caverns. We are too far away from there to visit right now, but i will be putting it on the hit list of places to go when we go east.
It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. I've never been there before. I'd love to take the family.
I am part Cherokee so I am always looking to visit all types of Parks and Caverns that celebrate the Indian culture. It looks like everyone had a great time!
What a great vacation spot! I love the idea of learning about Caverns and Indian Culture. We honeymooned in Pennsylvania and can't wait to go back with the kids! Such a great learning experience!
I am not a travel person but I'm sure going to share with my friends, thanks! :)
My grandkids would love to explore the caverns! That teepee looks cool, too! Sounds like a great place to visit.
What a nice way to spend the day together. I really like checking out natural caves. I've only been to a few of them though.
I love learning about other cultures. How nice that you were able to explore the caverns.
I haven't been to the caverns or Hershey park but would love to go. I have been to Hershey PA and it's delightful.
My kids would love to visit! The place looks so peaceful and natural! Perfect for family getaway
Sounds like such a fun way to spend a day! I lovely photo and you both have great smiles!
Thanks for letting us know about the place. The place is lovely and is so green! Good looking kids you have there.
I have visited Pennsylvania often, but I have never visited Indian Echo Caverns, I will have to check it out next time I am there! Did you get to check out Amish Country? I went there once as a teen. I got to check out a cavern while on vacation in Barbados and it was neat! Sorry to hear your Virginia trip got cancelled though!

My girls would love this! We started hiking and ran into a tipi in the middle of our trail. It was pretty cool.
Indian Echo Caverns sounds like an amazing place to bring the kids indeed. It looks like they have a bunch of fun things to see and do. I have not heard of this place before but will have to check it out some day. Thanks for sharing.
That looks fun. I've never been inside a cavern, but my son had been to one when they had their field trip in Tennessee. He was amazed!
I hate cancelling plans, but if this is how my trip went I would have been so happy. I'm terrified of roller coasters and love gorgeous places like this filled with history.

So fun! You were actually really close to me! I've been talking about taking the kids to Indian Echo Caverns before summer ends, I'll definitely need to now!
