Let me share to you the "Nine Basic Ingredients for Falling In Love with your KIDS" by Stephanie Marston and my take on each of them..
1. Spend Time Together - That's one thing that we want the kids to remember when we are gone, the quality times that we spent together as a family.
2. Develop Common Interests - The four of us love outdoors so we are always into exploring everything around us every chance we get..3. Play Together. - I am glad we have lots of time to play together.
4. Touch each other. - We always tell our kids how important it is to show each other our affection, holding hands and hugging are just some of them..
5. Treat your KIDS as if they are the most important people in the world - It's a big thing for them to be acknowledged that they are important, that they are the main focus of your world.
6. Celebrate the uniqueness. - Each of our kids have different likes and interests and we try not to compare them but rather support and love their uniqueness.
7. Tell your children often that you love them. - We make sure that we tell them how much we love them, it is an assurance that we will be there for them - rain or shine -.
8. Talk Together - Our kids are only 6 and 4 years old but whenever hubby and I are planning for something, we always include them in the discussion. You will never know what they can contribute and what their opinions are if you don't ask them. Their inputs are very important to us, its one of the many ways you can teach your kids about decision making.
9. Create Lasting Memories - This is what we do every day. You might think that children won't remember every little thing that you do with them, but they will. I still remember things that my parents and I did when I was a kid.
Real success is finding your lifework in the work that you love.

What a lovely post. You have such a sweet family.
Every parent should have a copy of your suggestions and work on doing those very things each day. Excellent post to pass along. Mickie :)
Thank you so much everyone!
wonderful wise advice and beautiful family photos
These 'rules' are wonderful, and so true! Ours may be 22 and 20 now, but we always had dinner together, always conversed with and listened to ours - the time together always special. A testament to the parents - or the children. Lovely post!
...and they grow up and leave all too quickly. Dear me, I have grandsons that are in their 20s and teens already!! Where does the time go? You've captured some wonderful photos along with great shadows.

Beautiful post.
Regards and best wishes for you and your family
That is such a lovely post. I don't have children but I do teach young children and I think all of this applies. Your kids and you and your hubby make a lovely family!
Yes, your family relationship is very ideal. You and John have done great with your family and your kids are responding positively to that. I have no doubt that your kids will grow up to be responsible individuals and later on, very responsible parents too. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
