Have you guys seen the movie called "The Pianist"? I watched that movie twice and it's very disheartening. This 2002 movie revolves around the story about a Polish Jewish musician who struggled to survive the destruction of the Warsaw ghetto of World War II.
Anyhow, my father-in-law has this Gulbransen Makers old piano at his basement and my daughter has recently became so interested in playing it although I can only teach her one song, the "Open Arms by Mariah Carey, and it's not even complete as I just listen to the tune of the piano. We are planning to enrol her in a piano lesson here in the area.
She loves playing the piano, that's what she does every time we visit my FIL.
"The sound of the mandolin is a very curious sound because it's cheerful and melancholy at the same time, and I think it comes from that shadow string, the double strings."
Rita DoveI struggled posting this one. I am currently suffering from stomach flu. Have a great weekend everyone.

I hope she is willing to learn the piano. I dearly love listening to piano music. Wish I had been able to learn it while young.
Happy Pink Saturday! ~Diane (I am #21)
What a fantastic piano!! I've never seen the movie you mentioned, though I've heard of it.
Do hope you feel better soon!
I hope she will take up piano playing. Music is the universal language. A handy thing for universe travelers I might add. Hope you are feeling better.

My great Aunt had a pianola when I was about that age, I would play it every time we visited, I wish my parents recognised how much I loved it and enrolled me in lessons! As an adult I bought my own piano! Get well soon, Happy Pink Saturday <3

What a cute pianist. And I love your blog header! Hope you're feeling better soon.
When you give a child the gift of music she carries it with her the rest of her life.
Awww - She's adorable. xo Nancy
OH, I hope she loves playing the piano! My kids quit and told me later that they wish I had made them stick with it. It is fun to be able to sit down and play.

I have seen that movie. I thought it was very good. I am glad your daughter is so interested in playing the piano. She should do very well since she has the desire to learn. That is a terrific piano, too. Thank you for coming by for a visit at Bunny Cottage! Vicki
Thanks for sharing. Your girl in pink is so pretty!!
Get well quickly!
My Grandson, 12 years old, started piano lessons a month ago. I played when I was that age, but I never learned to read music. I played by ear and still play that way. Takes me a while to work things out when the band gets together. that's why I stick to singing and song writing.
Your post has motivated me to write about the many years i spent as a furniture mover in Chicago. I was on the piano crew and moved the giant heavy things up and down numerous flights of stairs.
Gulbransen is a famous name in pianos and are quality built.
Peace
Beautiful pictures. I hope you feel better soon xx

She is so sweet and pink!
I have seen that movie and it's very sad. How fun that your little lady is going to get to take piano lessons! Happy Pink and have a terrific week!
Happy Pink Saturday...or should I say, Tuesday. ;) Still making my rounds but I enjoy visiting no matter when.
Took seven years of piano lessons, completing my studies when I was 16. I could play it, I could teach it, but I never touch it. It sits in my home as a reminder of something that was forced upon me. On the other hand, our son (22 now), was born musically gifted but was NEVER force to study it and HE LOVES IT. Hope this helps with your little ones. Gorgeous pics and smiles, by the way.
Thank you so much for always stopping by on Pink Sat.
Much love!
Love, love, love.
And hope you're feeling better.
