I have mentioned in my previous post that we were invited for a birthday party in Tomlinson Run last weekend. We went earlier but we did not see anyone at the designated venue.
We drove around, went to the parts where we have never been yet but we we did not fin it. So we went back to the venue, stayed there for about an hour and decided to leave because I was worried that the fruit salad I made will get spoiled..
It turned out that they put a small sign from the entrance for the new venue that they picked. They said that the place was already taken when they arrived so they changed the shelter. We didn't see the sign they put up so we never got to enjoy their company. Nevertheless, we had a really great time out there since we spent one hour exploring the lake. .

What a peaceful place...from a picnic to kayaking, a place near enough to home but like a world away when you get there. The quiet family time...Is that the Ohio?
What a beautiful location!! That last shot looks so refreshing with the water bubbling over the rocks.
Hi Ralph. according to the information I found;
Tomlinson Run Park is located at the extreme tip of West Virginia's norther panhandle, it provides a wide range of recreational opportunities to a large number of local and out-of-state visitors.
The park's 1,398 acres extend along the stream from which it gets its name, both of which are named for a family of early settlers, to within a mile of the stream's confluence with the Ohio River.
Roughly divided into two sections, the park offers a wilderness area of heavily forested hills, overhanging cliffs of sandstone and shale, and a profusion of wildflowers and fauna. Featured within the developed areas of the park are picnicking, boating, miniature golf, basketball and volleyball courts, swimming, a campground and a group camp. In addition, program events are scheduled from April through October.
Looks like a wonderful, fun place.

What a shame you did not see the sign, but good that you enjoyed the day regardless. Diane
what a shame to miss the party. Maybe they should have posted a person to direct everyone to the new spot but so glad you had a great time anyway. Beautiful place to enjoy the day. Happy Pink Saturday.
