Balancing skill is not something that Ms. Burrito excels at so she practices every chance she gets. Just like the other day, she wanted to walk around the house with a cup on top of her head. It reminds me of Philippines because there is there is a a folk dance called Pandango sa Ilaw, a popular dance of grace and balance originated from Lubang Island Mindoro, Visayas region.
"This particular pandanggo requires skill in balancing three lighted oil lamps or tinghoy, one on the head and at the palms of each hand. It is characterized by lively steps and clapping that varies in rhythm in 3/4 time. The lights of the lamps are said to represent fireflies that are fluttering in the night. " - WikiPilipinas.org
Ms. Burrito wants to join the Filipino-American dance troupe but we are hesitant as they practice in Pittsburgh quite a bit of a drive for us.

She also tried it with the cardboard roll. She counts how many seconds the cardboard will stand in her hand without falling. My little girl never want to give up, when she wants to learn something, she won't quit till she gets it.

Rylie has a real sense of balance and poise - with practice she shows us a skill that few of us master physically at least...she works and studies and practices so hard that she shows balance intellectually and physically. Hard work always pays off well!
Beautiful photos, that funny, good walker!

She is something mommy Rose. She seems to love trying new things and are active. I remember the Pandango Sa Ilaw in HS when we had our school feast. It wasn't easy, but it was fun to learn. :)
I remember that folk dance as I used to dance it when I was in elementary and high school. I am pretty sure ms. Burrito will perfect it with practice :-)
