Most of the Filipinos here in Weirton have different traditional costume except me. For some reason, I am not comfortable wearing costume. It;s not something that I can just do and not feel conscious about it. It's not that I am not proud of the Filipino culture but it is not just my thing. I love looking at them wearing different kinds of traditional costume though. Here are some.
As you can see in the last photo, only hubby and I are the ones not wearing costume during the Filipino Martyrs Celebration.
How about you, do you like wearing traditional costumes?

It is OK. You still look very Pinay. I like the idea of wearing costumes, but I have not tried it yet.
I always dreamed of owning a Filipiniana dress. I like going to events like this.
Those are beautiful, I love learning about different cultures so thank you for sharing.
Wow! So nice to see Filipiniana Costumes. It's also expensive to buy the costumes here in US sis.

Hi, how nice to see you guys wearing Filipino costumes
It's good to know that Filipinos in US are giving tribute to Filipino martyrs. I'd love to see see you in Filipiniana costume Tokaya. Maybe next year?
i've never worn one but I would love to when given the chance or the occasion calls for it. :)
Filipino get together is indeed lovely, you can see your fellow citz there at the same time enjoy each other's company.
I know Imelda Marcos made pauso this Filipiniana outfit. But its good. For Men's madali lang bagayan but for the ladies, choosing a terno is a pain in the neck.
The Filipiniana costumes here are bongga and colorful! I am glad that you are proud as Pinoys!
The last time I wore a traditional costume was when I was in highschool. After that, wala na! Haha I must say, I'm not a big fan of wearing the national costume. :D But that doesn't mean I don't like being a Filipina :)
I hear you Algene, just like you, I am also proud being one but not fond of wearing the traditional costume. I would feel like the whole world will be staring at me when I wear one lol.
Yeap! I love wearing traditional costume :) And we are also required to wear Filipiniana outfit every monday :)
OMG, I forgot already when was the last time I wear the traditional costume.
You can really tell, your friend aged gracefully.
To be honest, I seldom see traditional costumes now. And I never wore them except during school events.
I do not experience anything such as traditional costume party. So I am not sure if I can wear a costume or even a Halloween costume hehehehe. So my answer is maybe not maybe yes
Oh. Those are nice costumes that your friends wore during the event. So colorful! :) But, you still look good Ate! :)
