Our Children Want a Vacation With A Difference This Year. Here Are Some Ideas We Are Considering

My children are a great source of joy to me; they are well behaved and polite, considerate and helpful; well, most of the time. Once or twice a year I enjoy taking them off on vacation, and we have toured North Wales until we know it like the back of our hands. Don’t get me wrong, we love it there and look forward to going every year. The beaches are good, and there is plenty to do. The static caravans we stay in are luxurious and warm. The kids are counting down the days until they break up from school for the summer holidays, and we pile the car high before setting off.

This year, however, I am mulling over vacations that are a little different from our usual break; they deserve a special treat. Take a look at some of my ideas and see if they may suit your family too.

Safari

We have taken day trips to our local safari park and the children have loved it. They become excited, frightened, and fall in love with the animals there. That is why I am considering taking them on a safari (journey) package holiday. There are companies that provide for tourists in Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and many more countries. Some of the holidays are classed as safari and beach so there is plenty of sun, sea, and sand for the children to play in when not on an excursion.

Snow

My children’s faces light up when we have a flutter of snow. The trouble in this country is that we don’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to see their faces if I take them on a European skiing trip. I think by introducing the kids to snow action early, one of them may become an Olympic champion.

Canals

My alternative choices of holiday aren’t all in foreign countries. I have watched barges on the canal at Llangollen on our way to North Wales, and have always wanted to try it myself. The children will benefit from a calm, relaxed journey through the countryside and we can stop off at some tourist towns for shopping and fun. 

Skippered Yacht Charter

I may have to put my credit card under extreme stress to hire a skippered yacht for a few days and visit a couple of cities along the mediterranean coastline. This is a once in a lifetime treat. The mini-cruise may venture from an Italian or Greek port, which is the country we will spend the rest of our holiday in.

Holiday Camp

We have never been to a holiday camp before, but I think it will give my family a good taste of a traditional British holiday. All of the entertainment is free, and we would hire a self-catering chalet so we can eat cheaply. The sites have their own swimming pools and parks for recreation. Most of them are situated close to a beach for daytime excursions too, so they have everything we need.

You must be feeling a little nauseated by just how perfect my kids are. That is simply because I haven't mentioned the tantrums and naughtiness that my kids are prone to just as much as yours. Still, we wouldn’t be without them.
