Bowling Night Out with Friends

With the hustle and bustle of everyday routine in the family life, it is hard to find time to  go out with friends sometimes.  Luckily, one of the Moms in our daughter's class had this brilliant idea to   organize a bowling night out.  That's what we all did on the first week of February.  Our children's school is going through some big changes and we needed some time out to  get together and have fun.
We went to Steel Valley Bowling Center with  the other  parents and we all had the blast.  We let the kids bowl and the adults had the chance to catch up and  talk.  It's been a while since we  all got together so it was a great night not just for the kids but for us parents as well.
Somebody suggested that we should do this once a month and we thought it was a great idea.  I like bowling and I  want to learn how to play it  and be good at it.  It is something  that I enjoy aside from  playing tennis with my kids.  I think it would be great if we can all do  this once a month, it would be a nice breather for all of us.
It would be awesome if  this bowling alley would offer a lesson.  I am sure that a lot of  people would  take advantage of it since  it is a fun sport to play  with friends and family.  There might be lessons   offered but I am not sure, I will have to inquire about it.
The organizer, our dearest friend Rose.    She is also the homeroom Mom for ou r 6th grade class.  It is great to have  a close and tight-knit  school  community.  Parents  get along well and  you can tell that everyone  cares for every  child.  Thank you Rose for thinking   of  this idea.
Here's  the 6th graders busy  scoring.  Some of them are really good.
One of the Moms also brought a cookie cake which everyone ate for snacks during the break.
All the Moms had  fun bonding the with the youngest bowler in the group.
Before  everyone left, we took some  group pictures of the kids and  parents as well.
While the parents were busy taking pictures of the kids, I snapped a shot of them too.
Glad everybody had so much fun  even for such a short time.
It's very rare to have  the parent's  picture taken so I am glad we had this opportunity.
Holding the little baby makes me want a another  baby at home lol.  She was such a chill and  great baby to  have around.
I think my husband turn off the  flash on that last  shot, it's kind of blurry but   the smiles says it all, we have a lot of FUN that night.  I hope that we could do this again  sometime next month.

Father & Son

"When a father gives to his son, both laugh;
when a son gives to his father, both cry. "
William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare's quote above  is a puzzle to me but I  think what it means is that when a father give something to his  son, be it a toy or food, or shared a joke, they can both laugh and be happy abpout the things they  shared together.  When the son gives to his father and they both cry, I think it means that when the son finally gives back when he is older, it is a sense of accomplishment so they can both shed tears of joy for what  the Dad had taught his son growing up.  I don't know but you may share your interpretation of the quote through the comment.
My husband is a wonderful  father to our children and he is a very good example to our son.  I hope that our son would grow up just like him.  My husband is not a perfect individual (nobody is..) but I can say that he  does his best to be the loving father and husband that he can be.  He have things in the past that he is not proud of  but what matters is now, he applies those past experiences and uses it as a tool to be a good Dad and husband.
I always tell my  kids how lucky they are to have a Dad like him.

Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Family Nurse?

A family nurse practitioner provides family-focused health care services. The services revolve around direct care to patients, disease prevention, counseling, and health promotion among other areas. A graduate family nurse can diagnose and treat many diseases. If you want to become a family nurse, you must be prepared to provide holistic healthcare to a family unit. You will acquire the necessary knowledge to function as a family nurse in your undergraduate and postgraduate studies. However, you need to develop some qualities and skills to be effective in your profession. Some of these qualities are outlined below.

1. Empathy

Most family nurses provide medical care to patients from the diagnosis stage to their full recovery. In addition to providing medical care, family nurses help patients and their families to deal with the emotional strain that comes with illness. Watching people suffer from physical pain day after day may harden you as their nurse. However, a professional nurse is expected to be compassionate, kind, and empathetic to all patients at all times.

2. Communication Skills

As a family nurse practitioner, you can work autonomously or with other healthcare practitioners. Certified onlinedoctoral nursing programs will help you enhance your skills and pursue private practice. You need good communications skills to understand and execute directions from other practitioners. Listening skills are important when interacting with patients and family members to understand their conditions and recommend the right treatment. You also need to good communication skills when offering counseling and directions to patients and their caregivers.

3. Problem-Solving Skills

You will encounter many situations in your profession that require you to think fast and implement a solution to save a patient’s life. If you decide to pursue private practice, you will not have doctors or other professionals around you to offer guidance. You need problem-solving skills to deal with emergencies that occur in homes. Your ability to deal with issues before they become fatal will influence your effectiveness as a family nurse.

4. Attention to Details

Online doctor of nurse practitioner programs will equip you with the right knowledge to work as a professional nurse. As you pursue your doctoral program, you will realize the need to pay attention to details while working as a nurse. A minor error while offering medical care can be fatal. Paying attention to details will help you follow the right procedures and offer the right treatment to all of your patients. You will learn to handle patients from their diagnosis to recovery without making any errors.

5. Interpersonal Skills

Nurses interact with patients, families, and other practitioners from different backgrounds. You need good interpersonal skills to remain professional while handling unkind patients and colleagues. Sometimes families are aggravated by the condition of their loved ones, especially when treatment does not give immediate results. Interpersonal and communication skills will help you deal with such families and help them overcome their stress.
Nursing is a demanding career whether one is working from a hospital, clinic, or a patient’s home. Nurses are expected to remain professional and offer the right treatment to all patients in and out of the hospital setting. Combining your training with the qualities outlined above will help you work effectively as a family nurse.

Open House at St. Joseph the Worker School

My husband took a  day  off last week so we could attend  the open house at our children's school.  St. Joseph the Worker had celebrated the Catholic School Spirit Week and the open house was scheduled on the second day.  I love attending Open Houses because we get to see how our kids  interact with other children and teachers.  It is also a great opportunity for not only parents but other relatives who wants to see the  school, students, and school faculty and staff.
Here in the photos, my husband battled with our son in Mathematics.  They did one  division problem and I was very  amazed that they finished at the same time.  Parents and students battled it out and the children outdid the parents lol.
My husband and I  split ourselves in some   subjects  to see both of them .  They wanted us to see certain presentations  that  they did for parents.  We enjoyed  our daughter's music and religion class.
It is great  watching the kids having  fun while learning.
Our kids love it when are around.  They are now 10 and 11 but very much  love us to  watch what they do.  I am glad they are that way because I read from several posts where  kids  doesn't want the parents  around and that to me is sad.
Some of  son's classmates were sick during the Open House so they were not there but his class is a small and I like it because the teacher can really give everyone of them an attention.
Our former neighbor who is a teacher at school, it was nice  talking to her.
Despite our effort to attend to every class of our children, we somehow miss one part of our daughter's and she cried, I felt bad.
We made up with her, my husband attended all of hers after that and I go back and forth to her class and  her brother's class.
We stayed at the school until the open house was over.  Snacks, lunches, and beverages were served for the parents.  My husband lost a turn on a game that parents and students  participated to and as a consequence, he was asked to  do what the teacher does.  I thought he was a natural.
There is a tension going on at the school and we don't  really know what  it is.  I don't like it one bit because my kids are very observant and they too can feel  it.  I hope that the  Diocese  and the SJS school would  work together and solve whatever the issue is.  As a parent, I want to  be informed but unfortunately, they haven't let us know  what is going on.  I love how the principal of this school run things so it would be  sad to see him let go by the Diocese.  He invested 43 years  of his life serving the school and  that would be devastating if he will be  forced to retire.  I hope that whoever  makes the decision would give him the chance to retire on his own terms.  I know I would be  devastated  if I were him.  I am praying for the best for the sake of the  children, teachers, and staff of St. Joseph the Worker School.

It's been..
